Welcome to Crumb! We're really glad you're here. We know privacy policies are usually about as fun to read as a phone book (remember those?), so we're going to try to keep this light, honest, and actually readable.
We collect the food you tell us about (pizza, salads, that questionable gas station burrito), your nutrition goals, and your email address. That's pretty much it.
Weβre not interested in your browsing history or what you're doing on other apps.
If you let us use your location for restaurant meals, we only use it to get accurate nutrition info nearby β thatβs it.
When you tell us what you ate, we send that to an AI service (Perplexity) to estimate the nutrition info. They don't keep your data either β they just do the math and send it back. Itβs like asking a really smart friend about calories, except the friend forgets the conversation immediately after.
We use Firebase to store your data securely. Think of it like a really good vault, but for your meal history. Your data is encrypted both in transit (when it's traveling) and at rest (when it's sitting on servers). We take security seriously, even if we don't take ourselves too seriously.
We don't sell your data.
We don't share your data with advertisers.
We don't judge your 2am snack choices.
